Flow chart detailing the vessel rupture suppression protocol. Subharmonic emissions are acquired while the HIFU is active. During the time the transducer is off, the emissions are processed and a calculated value compared to a given threshold. If this value surpasses the threshold, the ultrasound intensity is decreased. If the threshold is not reached for ten consecutive counts (10 s), the intensity is increased (up to a maximum of 24,430 W/cm2). This process is repeated for a total of 300 cycles.
